Speaker:
Howie Richardson, born in Bristol, England in 1944, moved to Keremeos in 1972 and now resides in Okanagan Falls with his wife Nita, their two sons, and one grandson. He developed wilderness skills over 14 years in the Boy Scout movement, exploring remote areas of Britain. With basic certifications in first aid and life-saving, Howie led adventure groups in locations such as Minnesota, Wales, Hong Kong, Colorado, and Baja California.
He holds a Ph.D. in animal behavior and a degree in Physical Education, having taught at °ÍÀè·èÂíÐã for over 20 years.

Topic:
Howie's talk will feature a photographic journey illustrating how outdoor activities have evolved over the last 50 years, with a focus on changes in equipment quality and availability for hiking, climbing, kayaking, biking, and skiing. He will also explore key events that have shaped the recreational landscape of the South Okanagan.
